I spent a couple of hours in the kitchen Tuesday morning
getting dinner (our noon meal) in the oven. And there was a steady parade of
birds between the feeders and the birdbath. I think the key to a lot of birds
in the winter is a heated birdbath. It is a hot tub for the birds and they love
it. So do the squirrels. They had a
drink or two but I had my hands in the meatball mixture and was unable to get a
picture of them at the birdbath.

How do you heat the bird water?? Love the flicker, I've never seen one.
ReplyDeleteThe bowl of the birdbath has a heater on the inside of it. It is plugged into a regular outlet. We sat it on a base from another birdbath we had. There are also solar ones and ones you just set down into a regular birdbath. We have had ours for years. It was a gift from one of the daughters. Check out birdbath heaters at amazon.com. They have gotten kind of pricey over the years.
