Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph

The Feast of the Holy Family honors the family group of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. This feast developed only in the 17th
 century. Built on the Gospel accounts, this family is looked
upon as an excellent domestic unit representing the ideal family life. To promote family life and build up devotion to the Holy Family, a feast was established for the Universal Church in 1921 (under Pope Benedict XV), and it is currently celebrated on the Sunday after
Christmas or on December 30 when Christmas falls on Sunday.

Brothers and sisters:
Put on, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved,
heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,
bearing with one another and forgiving one another,
if one has a grievance against another;
as the Lord has forgiven you, so must you also do.
And over all these put on love,
that is, the bond of perfection.
And let the peace of Christ control your hearts,
the peace into which you were also called in one body
.
Col 3:12-21

Have a Blessed Sunday
